As quartz watches entered the mainstream, generating world timers was a matter of advancing microelectronics. Today many are available in very affordable price
ranges, including these by DKNY, Tissot and Marco Polo.

Marco Polo World Time
|
|
THE MARCO POLO WORLD TIME watch has three crowns. Each crown has a specific function. To use the world time function, the wearer sets the watch to the correct time
in his time zone. Then he must turn the upper crown until the city within the local time zone is aligned with the hour hand. Then the user turns the crown at 4
oclock until the inner 24-hour dial is also aligned to the current local time. With the hour hand, 24-hour inner dial and city dial all in alignment, simply
look at the rest of the dial and the other cities will be aligned with the current time as indicated by the 24 hour inner dial. To seek times in other locations,
pull the center crown to the middle position and turn clockwise until the fourth (GMT) hand points to the time matching the hours on the city of your choice. Read
this fourth hand as an hour hand for the new time zone.
