The
idea for this series arose when a customer requested that we match the engraving for a pair of shotguns, explained Nashan. He wanted to have a display-back watch, so he suggested that we match the gun's scrollwork to the watchcase and put the wildlife scene on the dial.
The new series
For
Nashan and the Montana Watch Company, that request was the catalyst for this whole new series of hand-engraved watches.
Employing
the dial for design and representational work became the perfect way for Montana to leave no surface of its watches without personalization. Through the sapphire crystal caseback one can still view the detailing on the movement. While telling the time, one can also enjoy a wildlife scene on the dial.
Montana
customers can provide photos or request particular images or scenes which Montana will then hand-cut onto a dial of either silver, gold or titanium in Banknote or Bulino styles of engraving.
The new series was
prompted when
a customer wanted
a caseback engraved
to match those on
his gun.
Dial markers can be gemstones set in platinum bezels, 24-karat gold dial brad heads, or flush-cut precious metals. Overlays, inlays and precious gem settings are also available. Prices will be set per order based on chosen watch model and the extent of engraving work desired. The first series debuted at Axel's of
Vail
with more to come.
