for its watch division

director for all Gucci group watch brands.
 
CHRISTIAN BÉDAT is the spirit of Bedat & Co., the animus that lends its essence and energy to the brand's creation, identity, and vitality.
The son of Simone Bédat, cofounder of Raymond Weil, he was born  
into the watch industry. He had no choice but to become intimately involved, the all-important contacts needed to achieve success in the watch business already in place for him.
But he is not the typical industry “brat.” How many Swiss CEOs visit their retailers on a regular basis, getting behind the counter, waiting on the customers, and helping to train the personnel?
This guy tries so hard that he even shows up for Christmas parties thrown by his American retailers. While there, he'll engage the store's customers and show the pros just how it's done. In Pittsburgh he even once persuaded a man looking for an elegant gold timepiece just to try on one of his No. 7 watches.
“The most beautiful rectangular watch in the world,” Bédat says of this model. Receiving the timepiece on his wrist, the man was so impressed by both the model and his high-profile salesperson that he immediately handed over his credit card, no further questions asked, despite the $12,000 price tag.
