Ulysse Nardin places its own legendary perpetual calendar movement into a, dare we say, fashionably large square case

 PUSH TO CHANGE THE HOUR hand. It doesn’t get much simpler.
But
the famed Ulysse Nardin inhouse movement that drives this new
perpetual calendar is anything but simple. Now a full decade old, the movement inside the newest
model from this always interesting Le Loclebased firm remains the only perpetual calendar
available that can be adjusted forward or backward by means of the crown. All indicators,
including day, date, year and month, change automatically as the hour hand is adjusted
in either direction.
And
now that this movement is placed inside a bold 42mm-squared gold case, watch lovers
can combine an au courant design with a proprietary caliber that for a decade has for many
become a type of signature movement for Ulysse Nardin.
“Our
watches with the UN perpetual movement are a very substantial portion of our sales,”
says the firm's vice president, Patrik P. Hoffmann, who directs the company's
sales in North America.
