The Art of War was also the theme of a Krone limited-edition pen collection introduced in 2004. The hand-painted pens featured Russian miniature painting of the Great Wall swirling around the barrel, and in the foreground are representations of the twelve Chinese generals in bright, bold color. Just 288 fountain pens and twenty-eight rollerball pens were produced in a regular size, while eighteen magnum-sized pens were created.

The latest wristwatch from Krone features a wood marqueterie dial with a white gold case, retailing for $26,500. The 44mm watch once again
employs the automatic KA8631 movement visible through the watch’s exhibition back. Introduced in June of this year, the Marquis collection comprises just fifty pieces, each dial handmade to perfection. Marqueterie is a special art form in which material, such as wood or ivory, is inlaid piece by piece to form an intricate and decorative design. Macassar ebony from Indonesia, walnut from France, and chestnut and lemon tree wood are used on the dial of the Marquis. All are featured in their natural colors, with just a simple lacquer coating. The dials are produced in Switzerland. The Krone collections of watches are sold through a select group of retailers, including Lussori and Cellini.
Kronenberger’s experience in the limited-edition writing instrument market has no doubt given him valuable insight into the interests of serious collectors. He "lives the life of the collector," he says, by attending auctions and exhibits, and his intent is not to produce just beautiful watches and pens, but rather to produce timeless works of art that will endure. In summary, he says:
"My greatest goal is to create things people will be talking about forever."
