"THE IW GUIDE TO DIVER’S WATCHES" BY JONATHAN BUES
B Y   J O N A T H A N   B U E S
We started our "iW Guide" with diver’s watches a year ago because we consider them to be some of the most popular designs around. We wanted to show how, even if one can’t afford a watch made by a certain firm, there are usually affordable options available to those who are willing to do a little research.
Consider your research done, or nearly so. We couldn’t possibly include every diver’s watch available in our last "Guide to Diver’s Watches," nor do we claim to have done it with this one. We believe that this selection of watches represents a wide range of prices and functions.
While not all of these watches are recommended for use by professional
divers, who need to test their watch’s limits, every watch in this guide can be worn confidently to the beach or in the pool. We even included a tourbillon with a water resistance of 1,000 meters, practically unheard of in the realm of diver’s watches, where fine mechanical watchmaking usually takes a back seat to durability and case design.
If you see a watch in this guide that you must have, just turn to the Contact Index on page 176 to inquire with the company that manufactures or distributes it. We also suggest visiting one of our Leading Retailers, found on page 170, whose selection of brands and commitment to serving customers earned them a spot on our exclusive list.
Please, dive into these pages!
