With his purchase of STT, Pascal Raffy has assembled an enviable
and rare collection of artisans and manufacturers at Bovet
BY MICHAEL THOMPSON
W
ith one stroke of the pen, Pascal Raffy in late July secured a strong and enviable future for his high-end Swiss watch firm Bovet. By purchasing the businesses formerly allied with Swiss Time Technology, known better as STT, he placed his brand among the very few able to handle nearly every major manufacturing operation totally
in-house
– including making movements.
The purchase
brought to his firm fully seventy craftsman and assistants and included not only the machinery needed to make movement parts, but also a spiral manufacturer and a plate and bridge maker. The new acquisitions have been combined into a single Bovet subsidiary called Dimier 1738-Manufacture Horlogere Artisanale.
