A. Lange & Söhne is a brand rich with history and pride. With roots dating back to 1845 in the Saxony region of Germany, this brand has regularly contributed to watchmaking progress. The proof? It has logged nearly eighty international awards.
Since its rebirth after the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, the brand has re-embarked on its grand tradition of watchmaking—developing twenty-four exquisite movements and a host of exclusive timepieces that squarely mark it as a stellar manufacture.
One such extraordinary feat is the new 1815 Kalenderwoche—a manually wound year-at-a-glance calendar. The newest timepiece is housed in the 1815 case that was first designed to honor company founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who was born in 1815.
The new timepiece is created in a limited edition of 150 pieces to celebrate the 150th anniversary of long-standing retail partner of the brand Uhren Huber, in Munich.
The watch houses the manually wound caliber L045.1 movement, with 231 parts and 29 jewels. Precision-adjusted in five positions, the movement is equipped with a lever escapement, shockresistant glucydur screw balance and a Nivarox 1 hairspring with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The watch offers 45 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
What sets this timepiece apart from others is it’s distinctive third hand, which transforms it into an annual planning instrument.
