At first
glance, this is a sophisticated three-hand watch with a day-of-week-calendar subdial at
6 o’clock. However, at closer look, the watch indicates the current calendar week on the outer rim
of the dial—displaying the entire year in all its sobriety. With a single look, one can tell how much
of the year has sped by, and how much is left. Both calendar displays can be corrected with pushpieces
at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock.
The 150-piece
edition is being built in fifty pieces each of platinum, pink gold and yellow gold.
In the pink and yellow gold version of the watch, the time-display hands are crafted in blued steel;

crafted of either yellow or pink gold to match the case, and in blued steel for the platinum version.
In every instance, the sapphire caseback and crystal are treated with an antireflective coating.
The cases are 38.4mm in diameter, making them slightly larger than the 1815 Automatic and slightly
smaller than the 1815 Chronograph. To buy this watch, you’ll need to go to Germany or contact

Not only is A. Lange & Söhne
celebrating its lineage with this
harmonious new timepiece, but
also the brand has been recalling
its rich history with a host of cultural
involvements. Most recently,
the brand brought a new
Zeppelin back to Dresden as part
of a reunion of the two brands.
Back in 1935, Lange & Söhne
watches were used on board
the air ships, and the brand had
given observation watches to
the Zeppelin yards. The recent
voyage of the Zeppelin over
Dresden was remarkable in that
the A. Lange & Söhne logo was
on the side of the technologically
advanced air ship and the
expedition also coincided with
the 800th anniversary of the
city—bringing all three German
wonders full circle in celebration.
A. Lange & Söhne also celebrates
the culture of the city as
a sponsor of the Dresden State
Art Collections, which, in turn,
makes it a sponsor of several
individual museums. one such
museum is The Historic Green
Vault, which houses an original
A. Lange & Söhne pocket watch
in its exquisite environs.
